Do you have stubborn body hair that seems difficult to manage? Shaving and waxing can cause bumps, rashes, uneven hair removal, and inconvenient timing. Under the care of board-certified plastic surgeons Charles A. Wallace, MD, thousands of men and women have enjoyed the benefits of laser hair removal in Dallas.
How Does it Work?
In a few short minutes, those unwanted hair follicles are eliminated by the Venus Versa laser with minimal discomfort. We target your unwanted hair follicles with pulses of concentrated pulses of light from the laser.
During your treatment in our Dallas office, the laser’s pulse will feel like a mild flick on your skin. Proper removal requires a series of treatments, but results can be seen after your first treatment.
As you continue with your follow-up treatments, you’ll see fewer hairs return. It’s critical to complete the entire series of treatments as this allows for permanent hair reduction. As we know that not all patients have the same needs, we offer a FREE consultation to customize the treatment package that provides you with the best results.
What Areas are Most Commonly Treated?
Permanent hair reduction is an approved procedure for many areas of the body. Both men and women can benefit from laser hair removal to get rid of unsightly hair wherever they may normally shave, wax or pluck. Some of the most common areas treated with laser hair removal are:
- Underarms
- Legs
- Pubic areas
- Bikini Line
- Buttocks
- Face
- Neck
- Chest
- Breasts
- Arms
- Hands
- Toes
- Back
- Abdomen
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal works by removing unwanted hair by using a specialized laser to target the hair follicle. Our doctor uses a specialized device and moves it from follicle to follicle, emitting pulses of intense light into each one.
This intense light is absorbed as heat, which destroys the hair cells and prevents regrowth. Despite using a laser, the procedure is very comfortable, and no pain management is necessary. To ensure each hair follicle will not have any regrowth in the future, our doctor recommends four to six sessions on the targeted area for maximum effectiveness.
After researching for about a month on the upcoming surgery that I wanted to get done, I choose Dr. Wallace office for my consultation. Although I felt I had so many of my questions answered based on my own research, Dr. Wallace still educated me on information that only a doctor would know with YEARS OF EXPERIENCE under their belt. The consultation went so smooth. I booked my surgery that day. 2 weeks later I had my surgery and NOW I am 1 month out of surgery and I’m in love with my results. It was everything I wanted and MORE!!! I followed all of instructions he and his staff gave me. Everyone was polite, friendly and professional. Dr. Wallace made this girl VERY happy.

Am I A Candidate For Laser Hair Removal?
For the vast majority of people, the answer is yes. We can treat women and men of all ethnicities and skin types.
Lasers are attracted to the pigment of the hair, so if you have white hair or very light blonde hair, that hair may not be treatable. For patients concerned with fine vellus hairs, aka Peach Fuzz, Dr. Wallace will recommend alternative treatment options. It is best to schedule a free consultation to determine whether or not your hair is treatable.
As a general rule, the best results are seen by those with thick dark hair and light skin. However, Dr. Wallace is a knowledgeable and experienced provider of laser hair removal. He offers safe and permanent hair reduction results for virtually all skin tones and hair thicknesses.
Although this treatment is designed for all skin types, there is a risk of discoloration due to the higher levels of pigment in the skin. The technician will perform a test spot and wait between 15 minutes to 48 hours, depending on the skin tone, to assess the skin’s reaction to the laser.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Results depend on how the hair grows. We typically recommend a series of 6 treatments to achieve optimal results. Some small patches of hair regrowth may occur. While any hair that does grow back in the treated area is often sparse, less coarse, and often unnoticeable, a touchup appointment may be needed to maintain results.
Is Specific Pre- or Post-Procedure Care Required?
Prior to each treatment, the skin should be clean from lotions, creams, or makeup. The technician will shave and clean the area before starting the treatment. They will also ask about the individual’s medical history, so it helps to have that information ready. Refrain from any hair removal treatments, aside from shaving, at least six weeks prior to the appointment. It is also recommended to stop tanning a few weeks before each treatment.
Post-treatment, gently clean the treated area twice a day and apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 before going outside. Avoid excessive sun exposure whenever possible.
Cut out any hot baths, massages, or treatments that require direct contact with the treated skin for the first 48 hours of your recovery. In the days following treatment, hairs may fall out more easily—-this is perfectly normal.
Some Dallas patients may also experience what appears to be a rash accompanied by some mild itching. This is just the skin’s response to energy. The redness and itching should subside quickly, within a few days. Cool compresses or antibiotic ointments can help speed up the healing process.
How often can I undergo Laser Hair Removal?
Treatments are done 3-8 weeks apart for laser hair removal.
How Much Does Laser Hair Removal in Dallas Cost?
The cost of laser hair removal is based on the area being treated. We offer packages for each area that can range in price. If follow-up treatments are needed, we offer a discounted price for these treatments.
