Benefits of Fat Transfer and Injections

Fat transfer and injections have proven to be safe and effective. This quick procedure is performed in the doctor’s office and requires no downtime or recovery afterwards. Since your own fat is used, this may also benefit the areas chosen as harvest sites. You may notice an improvement in the contours of your thighs, buttocks or abdomen after the procedure.

Are Fat Transfer Injections Right for Me?

If you are looking to reverse signs of aging without surgery, fat transfer injections may be right for you. Dr. Wallace may recommend this treatment for younger patients looking to improve facial imperfections or enhance facial contours.

Elements of a Fat Transfer and Injections Treatment

Prior to your treatment, Dr. Wallace will discuss your goals for the procedure. He will develop a plan including from where to remove fat and precisely where to inject it.

The treatment takes place in three parts. First, fat is harvested from the body using liposuction. The most common sites used include the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. This may improve the contours of those areas.

Next, the tissue is separated to isolate the fat cells from other components. Finally, the cells are injected into the treatment area using a very fine needle. Dr. Wallace precisely chooses each injection location and the amount to be injected for optimal results.

Dr. Wallace will advise you on when you can resume strenuous activity, usually within a few days. You should be able to resume wearing makeup the next day. The results of your treatment will be long-lasting, but not permanent. Some fat will be reabsorbed into the body, and you may require additional treatments to achieve your desired results.
